Day 7 – Best Ever

I think it’s officially time to start the discharge discussion!

Following an uneventful night, the doctors cleared Justin for a bland, low-fiber diet first thing this morning. After ordering some pancakes and waiting an eternity for them to arrive, hangry Justin nibbled for about an hour, yet only consuming half of one. Meanwhile I decided to jaunt across Colfax 😬 to Starbucks for a delectable treat. I swear I was only gone for an hour, but by the time I was back, Justin was off all IVs and his PCA. He was alert, bright, and happy [insert cherubs singing].

It’s hard to believe it has already been an entire week, but not hard to realize a shower was in short order. He and I had a lovely time getting him all cleaned up and feeling tip-top again. 😍

While nibbling the remainder of his single pancake, Justin took a long walk through the unit. Take a look…

So good!

He easily stayed ahead of his pain and ate like a champ all day. Zero nausea!

His plan for the morning… lol… I’m laughing as I tell you… to be up, watching tv, and already eating breakfast when the docs come in so they will be awed and amazed. Immediate discharge! If only hospital life were so simple. But hey, I’m willing to play, I think he’s ready.

I mean, look at that! Mmm, I could just eat him up!

Praying (praying so hard) to keep this amazing progress rolling. I know he misses the kids, the dogs, and the comforts of home, so let’s get him there!

Smiling all night!
